The Eco Rallye de la Comunitat Valenciana is the first event of its kind to obtain the environmental certification awarded by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) to all motorsport competitions that are committed to the environment and whose objectives are aimed at generating a legacy of sustainability.

The Castellón event, which has been part of the international championship since 2018 The Castellón event, which has been part of the discipline’s international competition since 2018, has worked since its beginnings to be in line with the environmental policies that the FIA is implementing through its sustainability programme. Through this programme, the sporting events included in the FIA’s international calendar are improving in quality and social acceptance, while continuing to raise awareness.

This international distinction has placed the Eco Rallye de la Comunitat Valenciana in a new dimension that confirms once again its potential as a reference competition to become the first eco rallye to get it.

To achieve this accreditation, the Castellón event has had to demonstrate its commitment and constant work in terms of environmental management, emissions and energy use, among other areas. In addition, an Environmental Policy has been drawn up, which is our declaration of intent with regard to environmental legislation, continuous improvement and environmental pollution prevention.

Enviromental policy

The organization of the Eco Rallye de la Comunitat Valenciana is committed to comply with its commitment to sustainability in the global strategy of its activity with the objective of contributing environmental, social and economic value in its surroundings, as well as to continue working to minimize the environmental impact of the eco rallye within the FIA Sustainability Programme Accreditation framework.

In this context, the organisation is committed to make every effort to carry out the following actions: 

Respect all applicable legal regulations of public administrations, as well as the FIA Environmental Certification.
Assume environmental protection, including contamination prevention, as a commitment of our competition, ensuring that they are carried out through specific objectives and goals in all functions and areas of activity.
To promote an environmental culture among all members of the organisation, promoting an attitude of genuine commitment to the environment that makes possible the corporate concern of all the people who make up the staff.
Spread and promote awareness of the environmental policies implemented among the participating teams and the public.
Calculate, together with the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, the carbon footprint generated by the eco rallye in three sectors: organisation, teams and suppliers.
Promote the responsible consumption of resources from renewable sources, seeking synergies with suppliers and service companies.
Minimise vehicle displacements by the organisation and, when necessary, use electrified vehicles, optimising shared vehicles as much as possible.
Prioritise the use of digital media over paper, the latter being ecological in those cases where it cannot be avoided.
Install recycling bins for plastic, paper, glass, organic material and waste in the Parc Fermé and in the Race Secretary's Office to store all non-contaminating materials that may be generated by the participating teams, the organisation itself and the attending public.
To try to minimise energy consumption in the Closed Park, as well as in the organisation's facilities.
Increase communication and training of staff to encourage responsible and sustainable behavior.
To openly communicate our environmental policy.
